Elijah and Charlotte
Charlotte and Elijah Frazier have become a dynamic duo in using their creative gifts to start a jewelry line. It didn’t start that way. Elijah, 25 and 2006 graduate of Terrell High School, has autism.
After graduation Charlotte enrolled Elijah in many schools and classes, but all of them ended up closing their doors. Charlotte is thankful to God and her pastor,Rev. C. F. Robertson for finding Dallas Designing Dreams, where she said “they opened their doors to us with love and a smile”. It was there that Charlotte and Elijah encountered Arthur Porter (founder and master leather craftsman) and Carla Robertson (Sewing Instructor and Rev. Robertson’s daughter). Elijah’s naturally ability to paint started with one hour a week at Dallas Designing Dreams. His painting caught the eye of his young cousins and they began to paint with him after school. This was deemed the “Elijah Effect thus the name of the jewelry line. Charlotte and Elijah are now learning how to make earrings, key chains and wristbands. With the help of Mr. Porter they have added, coin purses and clutch bags to their line. What’s next for Elijah? Mr. Porter is slowly getting him ready to photograph his own products. Elijah’s Effect Jewelry and Accessories can be purchased through Dallas Designing Dreams..
